Mr. David B. Kaplan is Director, CoFounder, Senior Partner, CoHead of Private Equity Group of Ares Management GP LLC, the General Partner of Ares Management, L.P. He is a Partner of Ares and CoHead of its Private Equity Group and a member of the Management Committee. He additionally serves on several of the investment committees for certain funds managed by the Private Equity Group. Mr. Kaplan joined Ares in 2003 from Shelter Capital Partners, LLC, where he was a Senior Principal from June 2000 to April 2003. From 1991 through 2000, Mr. Kaplan was affiliated with, and a Senior Partner of, Apollo Management, L.P. and its affiliates, during which time he completed multiple private equity investments from origination through exit. Prior to Apollo Management, L.P. Mr. Kaplan was a member of the Investment Banking Department at Donaldson, Lufkin Jenrette Securities Corporationration Mr. Kaplan currently serves as Chairman of the Boards of Directors of the parent entities of Neiman Marcus Group, Inc. and Smart Final, Inc. and as a member of the Boards of Directors of 99 Cents Only Stores LLC, ATD Corporationrationration, the parent entity of Floor and Decor Outlets of America, Inc. and of Guitar Center Holdings, Inc. Mr. Kaplans previous public company Board of Directors experience includes Maidenform Brands, Inc. where he served as the companys Chairman, GNC Holdings, Inc., Dominicks Supermarkets, Inc. Stream Global Services, Inc. Orchard Supply Hardware Stores Corporation and Allied Waste Industries Inc. Mr. Kaplan also serves on the Board of Directors of CedarsSinai Medical Center, is a Trustee of the Center for Early Education and serves on the Presidents Advisory Group of the University of Michigan since 2014.
